Marilyn Gates Garner

Marilyn’s role is to market Futuregrowth’s capabilities and manage client relationships.  She  is also responsible for tenders, proposals, due diligence questions and a range of client/industry queries.

After two years as a Teacher/Psychologist at the Dominican School for the Deaf in Cape Town, Marilyn entered the asset management industry as a Research Assistant at Allan Gray. After more than eight years at Allan Gray, she joined Southern Life as a founder member of its LISP in the role of Investment Analyst, a role she held until the Southern/RMB merger in 1998. She was then invited to join start-up company Trematon Global Investment Solutions (later called Ovation Global Investment Services) as an Investment Analyst, analysing the unit trust universe, assisting IFAs with portfolio construction for their clients, and designing and implementing one of the first HouseView portfolio models for IFAs.

This led to a three-year stint at Common Cents Investment Portfolio Strategists, which specialised in wrap fund solutions, as a Strategist and Economist. In 2007, Marilyn joined Old Mutual Investment Group as a Tender Manager and moved across to Futuregrowth in 2010 where she specialised in tender, proposal, and due diligence documentation before expanding her responsibilities to include those of a Business Development Manager. 

"I'm a LCHF follower and just love cauliflower anything - my husband has it down to a fine art. I am also a Spinning/Aerobics instructor and love to run, swim, and walk my three dogs."
